Germany notches fifth straight FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ victory in Wellington

(Wellington/USA) Great news from week 7 of the Global Dressage Festival Wellington with the German team consisting of no less than three riders from Hagen (Evelyn Eger, Lars Ligus & Felicitas Hendricks) winning the first FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ of the season.

Hof Kasselmann rider Evelyn Eger posted the top score of the FEI Nations Cup Grand Prix, receiving a 70.435 percent for her test with Tabledance, a 12-year-old Oldenburg Totilas mare. It was a personal best for the combination in their first winter season in Wellington. Evelyn: “For me personally, the canter work was very good and of course, a highlight are always the pirouettes. This led us to the high score today.”

For her Hof Kasselmann colleague Lars Ligus, the Nations Cup marked his first week competing at FEI Grand Prix level with 14-year-old gelding, Santiago, and they delivered with a competitive test. Lars: “We brought him over as a sales horse, I showed him in a national Grand Prix in the last couple of weeks, and he had good results. Then the teammates and people at home asked me if I’d want to ride on the Nations Cup [team], so of course, [I was] really excited. You just learn, and I really enjoyed it with this horse today.”

Felicitas Hendricks and Drombusch OLD finished third overall. Michael Klimke from Münster and former P.S.I. horse Harmony’s Fado were the fourth team member.

Germany has assumed another early lead in the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ standings and recorded their fifth straight FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ victory in Wellington.
